Giggles @ the Groove - A New East York Stand-Up Comedy Night!

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 16, 2009 – Dave Martin is headlining the premier night of this weekly laugh-and-a-half. Ruby, Arie Kizel, Chris Brazeau, Pat MacDonald, Rene Armando Payes and Makesi Arthur are also appearing. The Giggles will begin at 9:00 p.m.
Host and organizer, Ariana Smith, is no stranger to the stage. Smith was senior production co-ordinator for two seasons of the award-winning comedy series Buzz, featured on The Comedy Network from 2001 to 2005.
"I'm excited to bring Giggles at the Groove Bar to life. It's a chance for veteran and beginner stand-up comics alike to do what they love - making audiences laugh; or trying really hard to anyways," says Smith.
The Groove Bar has a tasty and affordable menu of pub standards mixed with popular Greek affair. In addition to the new comedy program, The Groove Bar also hosts Game On @ The Groove on Sunday afternoons, a weekly all-ages video game social.
"We're hoping to bring some of the vibrancy of The Danforth a little farther East," says Rob Nikolovski, co-owner, "our neighbours all know The Groove, and we'd like to reach out to folks from across the Toronto."
The Groove Bar, located at 1952 Danforth Ave. (one block West of Woodbine subway station) is owned and operated by brothers Rob and Johnny Nikolovski. It's a popular neighbourhood hang-out and a fresh alternative on the East Danforth strip!
